The Sustainable GroundwaterManagement Act (SGMA), signed by Gov. Brown in 2014, gives local agencies theauthority to manage groundwater in a way that could achieve sustainabilitygoals by 2042. In this panel, we discuss how sustainable food production andhow evolving agriculture technology will be useful for farmers trackinggroundwater usage and complying with new rules associated with the SGMA.
